How to use Annotations in CELUS

Annotations let you add notes to a platform, either in general or for a specific date range. Use them to keep track of important information, for example:

  • Subscription – changes, cancellation, invoice details, subscription plan
  • SUSHI and harvesting – COUNTER Release 5 / 5.1, manual uploads
  • Data quality – missing, re-harvested, or suspicious usage data
  • Usage changes – reasons for increases or decreases in usage

How to add an annotation

1. From the "Platforms" menu

  • Click on "Platforms" in the left-hand menu.
  • Select the platform you want to annotate to open its detail page.
  • Click on the "ADD ANNOTATION" symbol / text.
  • Choose a time range if applicable, fill in the information, and save the annotation

2. From the "Annotations" menu

  • Click on "Annotations" in the left-hand menu.
  • Click on the "ADD ANNOTATION" button.
  • Choose the platform, fill in the information, and save the annotation.
  • The annotation will appear in the list of annotations.

Where to find Annotations

You can find existing annotations in the "Annotations" menu (see option 2 above) and in the "Platforms" menu.

In the "Platforms" menu, a triangle icon with a tooltip appears next to any platform that has an annotation.

On the platform detail page, annotations are listed. Click the right arrow to reveal the annotation details.

‍

Tip: If an annotation is linked to a time period, it is visible in the "Platforms" menu only if the date range at the top of the screen includes that period. If you cannot see an annotation, change the date range.

How to edit or delete an annotation

You can edit or delete annotations from either the "Annotations" menu or the "Platforms" menu.

  1. In the "Annotations" menu, click the edit or delete icon next to the annotation, make your changes, and confirm.
  1. In the "Platforms" menu, click the right arrow to reveal the annotation details, then click the "Edit annotation" button. Edit the annotation and confirm, or delete it.

‍

Note: Only admin users can create annotations: organization admins for their own organization, and consortium admins for any organization or globally. An admin can edit or delete annotations created by users at the same or a lower role level within the organizations they manage, so organization admins can't change annotations created by consortium admins. Normal (read-only) users can only view annotations and reveal their details.
