January 15, 2026

CELUS receives Platinum Award in the 2026 Modern Library Awards

CELUS has received the Platinum Award in LibraryWorks’ 12th annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs), confirming its position as a trusted and widely valued tool among librarians working with e-resources usage statistics.

This recognition reflects the growing community of libraries that rely on CELUS to simplify usage data collection, analysis, and decision-making.

About the Modern Library Awards

The Modern Library Awards were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry through a truly unbiased evaluation process.

Products and services were submitted in the fall of 2025 and published on a private review platform, accompanied by detailed descriptions and supporting materials. They were then evaluated by librarians from the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 professionals working in public, K–12, academic, and special libraries.

Only librarians with hands-on experience using the evaluated products in their own institutions were allowed to participate. Each product was scored on a numeric scale from 1 to 10 across multiple criteria, including functionality, value, and customer service.

CELUS achieved an outstanding overall score of 9.676 out of 10, earning the Platinum Distinction in the 2026 Modern Library Awards.

What the judges said about CELUS

“CELUS is fantastic, and I would not want to have to go back to doing my job without it again. It saves an unbelievable amount of time.

“We’ve implemented CELUS several years ago and have been impressed with the support during and after implementation, as well as with the product’s continuous evolution.”

“CELUS delivers on every promise. It has transformed our usage data processes — it’s now a joy to work with our usage data.

“I’ve worked with other SUSHI harvesting products, and none are as easy to set up and work with as CELUS.”

“CELUS does a great job of providing one service exceptionally well.”

“CELUS has made my work and my team’s work much more valuable. We are now able to focus on actual assessment instead of tedious statistics gathering.”

“The team behind CELUS is extremely responsive, deeply understands the product, and consistently considers user feedback.”

“CELUS is relatively inexpensive — a rarity in the library technology landscape — and has been absolutely critical to our success.

“The only limitation noted was that the API is not yet fully developed for long-term trend analysis without exporting data.”

Discovering CELUS felt like finding a goldmine. It replaced what would have required multiple software solutions in my previous work.”

A word from Tomáš, Godfather of the CELUS project

“What particularly warmed our hearts was seeing the 9.88 out of 10 score for the quality of service delivered by the CELUS team. There has always been a passionate team behind CELUS, and we have invested a great deal of energy into truly understanding the details of usage metrics and analyses, as well as into expanding our support team. It is incredibly rewarding to see that this effort is valued by the library community.

Our mission is to empower e-resources managers and collection development librarians to optimize their digital collections. Librarians are impressively passionate professionals who provide vital services to students, researchers, and the public. They deserve to spend their expertise on making informed decisions — not on hacking Excel spreadsheets or manually collecting usage data.”

Thank you to the judges. Knowing that this award comes directly from the community of users motivates us to continue tackling challenges that once seemed impossible. Next on our roadmap are even more efficient cost-per-use analyses.
