Support for CELUS Grows Among CAUL Members

January 27, 2025

The Australian National University Library has selected CELUS as its new platform for managing electronic resource usage statistics, joining the Swinburne University of Technology and the University of Melbourne as CELUS subscribers.  All three libraries are prominent members of the Council of Australasian University Librarians (CAUL), whose mission is to transform how its member libraries provide discovery and access to scholarly content.

As part of these subscription agreements, CELUS has developed and implemented a specialized reporting module to help Australasian libraries in compiling metrics for CAUL’s Statistics Collection.  This module is freely available to all future Australasian library subscribers.  CELUS has created a statistical reporting module for library members of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL/IPEDS), and the Spanish Conference of University Libraries (REBIUN).

“A key advantage of CELUS is its ability to harvest both COUNTER-compliant and non-COUNTER usage data within the same platform,” said Katy Najafi, Manager, Collection Initiatives and Analysis at The Australian National University Library.  “This integrated approach unlocks significant potential for deeper and more holistic analysis, helping institutions make data-driven decisions with greater confidence.”

Tomas Novotny, CELUS CEO and Co-Founder, expressed his welcome of new subscribers from the Australasian University library community.  “We’re delighted that these three prominent libraries afforded us the opportunity to enhance their decision support workflows,  which invariably center around accurate and timely e-resource usage stats.”
